History

Hatfield is a community located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania located just outside of the City of Philadelphia. Hatfield was founded in 1742 and was named after the Welsh village of Hertfordshire. Throughout the 1800’s, Hatfield was a small rural community with only a few roads and houses. Oh July 7, 1857, the Pennsylvania Railroad line going through Hatfield was complete and the first passenger car traveled through the town. It was after the completion of the railroad and the Hatfield Train Station, when many people began settling in Hatfield, turning the farm community into a populated village.

Hatfield is a small suburban community with a combination of historical and modern architecture. Residents and visitors enjoy a quaint community with a busy downtown center, a welcoming place to take a walk through town.
